College Life

Hello everyone! I have been really busy with school starting. I got a response in my e-mail about what they should do about college from one of my friends that is about to start college. Remember, its really confusing to post on here, so it's ok if you e-mail me.

Her questions were like the following:

1. I do not know what colleges to apply to. What should I do?
2. I don't know what I want to do with my life. How should I choose?
3. Do you like your school?

Everyone has a fear of going to college and stresses out about what school they should go to. I did. I did not know where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do, so these are easy questions for me to answer. My advice- Do not wait until the last minute and choose a few schools, including a "safe school" that you are sure you will get in to. Waiting will stress you out and if, for some terrible reason, you do not get accepted, you will freak out and really be pushed for time. Because you do not know what you want to do at this time, I would suggest you look at schools that are in your location range and price range. When you find schools that fit those two, you can look further into their programs. That will help you see the options you have for majors and give you an idea of what you want to do. Remember, you do not have to know right away. Many people are undecided. There are also many websites, such as www.collegeboard.com and www.gacollege411.org, that can help you with your search. I know you may be tired of looking at those sites because of SAT and ACT, but it makes it easier.

Personally, I do like my school, except I am not sure if it is the only college I want to go to. I did get accepted into my dream school, but I turned it down because of the location and mainly the price. That way, I have time to get a job and earn more money and then I can transfer. Other than that, college is not scary. It is not as hard as it seems. You HAVE to study and stay focused. Also, it is great to pick the classes that you find interesting. College life is great, in my opinion. Hanging out with friends and being out on your own is a great experience. Don't be scared of it!

I hope this helps! If you need more information, just ask! And keep the questions coming!

Good luck!

What is The Help Spot by Donna?

Hey guys. My name is Donna and I am currently a freshman in college. I was thinking today in church that I could make a blog for people that need help with anything.

Questions, advice about relationships (I've been through every type), help on a paper (my minor is creative writing), finding sheet music (I play the piano so I'm constantly looking for free sheet music), a song, icons or quotes, anything! Just leave a comment and let me know.

Also, if you have a personal question, you can send it to my e-mail. I will be checking!
